Walnut Cabinet in Dining Room
This photo shows the walnut cabinet on the south side of the dining room fireplace. During the restoration, it was detached from the wall and laid face downward in the center of the room. After the wall was repaired, it was re-attached. The cabinet is solid walnut and its shelves show the marks of the circular saw. In other words, they were fashioned at a local saw-mill. In the old days it probably held Catherine May`s dishes and linen tablecloths.
